According to Webster:- to set free, save , convey , transfer, to assist in giving birth, to give birth to, to send to an intended target or destination; Deliverance is the act of delivering.

In the Biblical terms :-

The word most often translated “deliver” is “to draw out.” It is used of all kinds of deliverance. It is to let or cause to escape,

“recover,” etc. In the New Testament ,“to rescue,” in this sense Mat_6:13 the King James Version, “Deliver us from evil”; “to make useless” or “without effect” , in Rom_7:6 the Revised Version (British and American), “discharged”. In the New Testament “save” takes largely the place of “deliver” in the Old Testament, and the idea is raised to the spiritual and eternal.

What are we delivered from? From sin, captivity of satan, terminal sickness , Curses and hexes etc.

(Isa 14:17 KJVR) That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

(Oba 1:17 KJVR) But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
